January certainly is smokin’ hot for me! Smokin’ with illness! Doesn’t that sound like a way to start off the year? We are also talking ‘smoke’ in the Recipe Redux this month. With the flu ending its reign in my home and my appetite returning, I want scrambled eggs. I will take them any way I can get them. I also want toast, lots of toast. Strange, I know. After 2 weeks of chicken soup and oatmeal, I am just glad to be craving something.
So let’s put the eggs and toast together and add some smokiness for something new. This also makes me feel like I am having breakfast in France. They have the cutest breakfasts! Cute is definitely something I need to incorporate after 2 weeks of feeling like death on a cracker.
I went for 2 layers of smoke with these cute little toasts, smoked salmon and smoked salt. My delicious eggs are trapped by the smokiness which I what I liked about it. Why for one? Because I’m hungry, and I am not sharing (except with you).
