It’s fall and I can’t get enough of apples! I won’t bore you with why apples are so great in this post. I will link you over to 7 reasons why you should eat them instead. This is a great recipe to do with your kids and show them that applesauce doesn’t always come from the grocery store shelf. I love it hot off the stove. - 5 medium apples, peeled, cored and sliced
- Zest of small lemon
- Juice of small lemon
- 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 3/4 cup water
- 2 Tbsp. Honey
- Combine all ingredients in a saucepan. Cook on medium heat for 15-20 minutes until ready to smash with a potato smasher. Store in glass mason jars and refrigerate. Makes 2 1/2 to 3 cups.
