Peter Cottontail is on his way! This year he is not bringing candy. This is the perfect time to making healthy eating fun for your kids. If your child is a picky eater, introducing one new food in a fun way may also lead to them trying it out.
Easter Egg Lunchable
What kid doesn’t want to go on a egg hunt, especially in their lunch? This Easter Egg Lunchable represents MyPlate in a way only the Easter Bunny would approve. Have your child pick out their favorite fruit, grains, cheese, and veggies to fill up their easter eggs.
Edible Easter Garden
Having a small cookie cutter in your drawer can lead to lots of fun for your kids. This Edible Easter Garden was inspired by my daughter who loves to cut cucumbers and cheese into flower shapes. We decided to add cheese and a touch of carrot. After you cut your slices of cucumber, punch out your flowers. Add your toothpicks to your flowers and cheese and place in cucumber and carrot slices. Not only do you have fun with your child, you can feel good about what they are eating.
Dietitians, if you want to use these in an in-store demo or media segment, you can download the signage below. I suggest using a yellow or light green sign. You can add a cotton ball to the tail for an extra touch.
